Pre-listening Notes: Another band I have never heard prior. They are from Norway, their promo pics have a guy in a Death and a guy in Black Flag shirt, so if those are actual influences and not just cool, hip bands to rep, then I'm going to be okay with this. However, in the same pictures, they have some pretty hipsterish facial hair, which I am hoping is less hipsterish in Norway.
Initial Reaction: Okay, a short opener, and it's nothing like I was expecting. The vocals are more sung than I would have expected, I was thinking more shout or growl. Musically, it's also not as heavy as I expected, it's more hard rock based.
Random Thoughts: I am getting a cKy vibe here. I kind of dig the music, but the vocals are losing me. Hoping this ends up being another one that grows on me after awhile. As the songs move on, the vocals grab me a little more, but they are still a little weaker than I expected. I guess when i read "metallic, punked out" I was thinking something with a little more kick!
Final Reaction: Overall, I didn't hate this. I also had a hard time believing in the vocals and feeling a sort of passion from this. It was kind of one step away from being something I would hear on the radio on my ride into work in the morning. It lacked something to really push it into that want to listen again territory.
Final Grade: 6.0/10
