Album:  Lo-Fantasy

Pre-listening Notes:  Canadian rock, how typical Buffalo of me.  Sam Roberts has been around for a while, but I've never listened to him.  This is his sixth album, so I'm behind the curve.  But, he's a Juno award winning guy, so at least Canadians love him.  That's about all I know before hitting play.

Initial Reaction:  Well, it's another one of those modern indie rock band sounds, that I could picture being on the radio.  He has a pretty good voice and the music is upbeat and somewhat dancey.

Random Thoughts:  This is pretty standard indie rock, which isn't a terrible thing, it just doesn't seem to have much to set it apart from all the other bands doing the same thing.  There isn't a ton of range to the songs.  I'm not entirely disliking this, but so far it is doing nothing to make me think I'll be back for repeated listening.

Final Reaction:  There wasn't anything particularly great or bad about this, I enjoyed it more as I opened up a video game and played along with the music.  It was competent Canadian indie rock that I could easily see played on the radio.  This isn't a bad thing, it just isn't my thing.

Final Grade:  5.0/10
