Pre-listening Notes:  Here was a weird treat, I logged into Reddit today and one of the subreddits I subscribe to advised me that you can go and download a whole LP from Del.  At first I thought someone was just sharing Deltron 3030 - Event II, but it's a whole new album he is releasing for free.  You can stream or download each track individually.  I remember listening to Del for the first time in like freshman year of high school, the first album was killer, and he's one of those guys that has put out solid music for over 2 decades.  I was one of the people who loved the new Deltron LP, that just came out two months ago.  If you aren't familiar with Del, he's a rapper that I see called "alternative" hip hop all the time, or underground, which I guess must stem from the fact that he isn't one of the most widely known rappers.  But, I wish more people did.  This is his 11th solo album, he's also collaborated with The Automator on two fantastic concept records, as Deltron 3030, part of The Hieroglyphics, and he's the rapper on the first Gorillaz record.

Initial Reaction:  Solid opening, how many rappers have as solid of a flow as Del?  This sounds good and I can get down with almost anything he puts out.  He isn't really breaking any new ground here, but that isn't a bad thing.

Random Thoughts:  It took until track 4 for me to not really dig on a track.  The first three were solid, but that one fell a little flat.  Track 5 got better, though.  Del is one of the most intelligent emcees out.  Wait, did he just diss Wu-Tang?  Track 9, 10 Paces, might be the strongest track so far.  Alright, so it didn't end very strong, I'm not feeling the hook on this last song.

Final Reaction:  This is not one of Del's best albums, but it surely is better than so much of the stuff that passes for hip hop nowadays.

Final Grade:   7.0/10
